The Samba Blisstas drumming group is a highlight of recent Apple & Grape Grand Parades. They are the largest community based drumming troupe on the East Coast of Australia and are in their 13th year. Currently the Samba Blisstas consists of local folk from Byron Bay, Bangalow, Lennox Head, Ballina, Tweed Heads and Gold Coast.
Paul Barrett, the creator of Samba Blisstas, will be running a series of workshops leading up to the festival and to train and create a local branch of Samba Blisstas called “Stanthorpe Blisstas” who will then perform as part of the parade.
The first of these workshops is on Saturday 26th September 3-5pm at the Summit Hall and is open to anyone aged 16 to 70. The cost is $30 per person (drums provided). Anyone interested in participating should call Paul on 0417 969 743 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
