Young Ambassadors attended their second Industry tour visiting the Stanthorpe Museum and Stanthorpe Tourist Information Centre on Saturday 29th August.
At the Museum, the Young Ambassador’s learnt about the history of Stanthorpe including the tin Mining era of early 1870’s and the arrival of Italian Immigrants. They also had a stroll around the museum, spotting some historical pieces including the crown worn by previous Apple & Grape Festival Queens and Charity Queens.
Thanks to Lorene Long for the very interesting and informative session provided to the Young Ambassador’s.
This followed with a visit to the Visitors Information Centre, where the Young Ambassador’s learnt about the many local attractions that Stanthorpe and the Granite Belt has to offer. The Young Ambassadors were also there to watch staff record the official weather which is done every day at 9am and 3pm.

The Young Ambassadors were joined by Festival Directors Karol Pasin, Kath & Len McKewin for afternoon tea and an informal meet and greet.
The next Industry Tour will see the Young Ambassador’s visit an Apple Orchard, Strawberry Farm and Vegetable farm.
