Young Ambassadors at the Stanthorpe Races

The Apple & Grape Harvest Festival’s Young Ambassadors are all prepared for their first public engagement at the Stanthorpe Races on Saturday.  Following their recent graduation from an intensive Toastmaster speechcraft course, the onstage interviews present the first opportunity for the Ambassadors to speak at public functions.

“They are all excited” said Natasha Gosney, the Festival Director for Ambassadors.  “The Caulfield Cup race day at Armstrong Park for a long time been a venue for Festival Ambassadors and Show Princesses to be presented to the public and talk about their involvement in the quest and to acknowledge their sponsors”.

“The Stanthorpe Jockey Club is most generous in its offer to allow these presentations to occur at their annual race day” said Ms Gosney.

Introducing the Ambassadors will be the current Festival Ambassador Samantha Blaxland and assisting with presentation of festival sashes will be Festival Fundraising Ambassador Amanda McCosker.

Festival President Greg Thouard said that at the recent launch of the Ambassador Program Samantha spoke with wonderful words of encouragement and guidance to the Ambassador entrants.  “I am really looking forward to Saturday’s races and the public speaking by all the Ambassadors onstage”.

The public launch of Ambassadors at the races introduces these entrants who will be seeking public support for their fundraising efforts.  “Many events at the festival are only possible because of fundraising support from the public and I encourage the public and other festival supporters to dig really deep to help with funding towards the 2018 festival” asked Mr Thouard.

Festival Ambassadors Lateesha Stabile (Community Bank), Charlotte Bush (Jamworks), Brianna Woods (QCWT) and Bridget Campbell (Rotary) will be continuing to represent their sponsors and the festival at many events leading up to the festival.

Mr Thouard said these are four outstanding young community leaders who have put their name forward to represent the festival, their sponsors and their community.

I look forward to total community support for their civic and fundraising efforts and contact can be made through their sponsors or contact the festival office Ph. 4681 4111 or E.
