Chalk artist Amelia Batchelor from Zest Events International will be creating a chalk art masterpiece as part of this year's Festival. She will be working on the footpath outside the Stanthorpe Post Office on Wednesday 2 & Thursday 3 March.
About the Artist: Amelia Batchelor, Murwillumbah, NSW
Amelia Batchelor left the corporate graphic design/multimedia world over ten years ago to concentrate on creating artworks across many disciplines including painting, sculpture, illustration and murals. In 2007 she discovered chalk while looking to learn more about drawing and became enthralled in using her art to interact with the public.
On top of her obvious artistic talent, Mealie has a passion for teaching art through workshops and working live in front of an audience. She also creates murals, recycled art sculptures and paintings.
Amelia has won awards for her chalk artworks and is in high demand for her workshops, murals and live art performances. Her work is fun, educational and engaging.
This project has been made possible by a Regional Quick Response Grant – an Australian Government initiative through the Regional Arts Fund, supporting the arts in regional and remote/isolated Australia, delivered in partnership with Artslink Queensland.
