BREAKING NEWS: “Saturday 4th March/Sunday 5th March, 31 Maryland St (Between the Reject Shop & Pure Heaven)
Join us on 5/6 March for a live street art performance by renowned Brisbane artists Travis ‘Drapl’ Vinson and Cameron Mack from Graffiti Murals as they create a five meter high mural dedicated to Stanthorpe. The artwork will take place at 31 Maryland St (in the alleyway between Pure Heaven and the Reject Shop).
'Drapl' has been a professional artist for over a decade and has created amazing graffiti street art murals across Australian cities for several years. The artist has also left his mark in Copenhagen, Denmark & New Zealand. Whilst this is Drapl’s first time in Stanthorpe we’re lucky enough to welcome back Cameron Mack who participated in our Graffiti Workshop for high school students in the area last year. The mural will strengthen local arts by providing a creative focus for Stanthorpe and it is hoped that this project will be the beginning of more legal street art in the area. The project will also create new and diverse cultural experiences for both the residents of Stanthorpe and our region as nothing like this has been done before in this region. The public mural will be an artwork for the people of Stanthorpe and we want it to feel like it is theirs and be proud of it. Come along and watch one of Queensland’s most iconic street artists develop a new and dynamic artwork for the people of Stanthorpe!
