The Power Tynan Mt Marlay 10k Challenge and Quart Pot Creek 5k Walk is on the final day of the Stanthorpe Apple & Grape Harvest Festival celebrations in Stanthorpe, Queensland.
Run or walk the 10K Challenge around the town course, up Mt. Marlay 919m above sea level with an average 8% gradient, finishing back at the start line.
There are prizes for the winners in each category: male and female open, and male and female junior under 15. First place in each of the the 10k challenge categories receive $100, and first place in each of the 5k challenge categories receive $50.
10km Mt Marlay Challenge:
Start 7.30am in Marsh Street at Weerona Park. The course follows the pathway along Quart Pot Creek and continues on towards Mt Marlay. This is run out and back on the same route to the start/finish line. Competitors have 2 hours to complete the course.
5km Fun Run:
Start 7.30am in Marsh Street at Weeroona Park. Flat course following the pathway along the banks of Quart Pot Creek. Runners and walkers welcome. This is a run out and back on the same route to the start/finish line.
There are 4 categories in each event: 10 and 5km male open, female open, male junior and female junior.
$25 – 10km Mt Marlay Challenge
$20 – 5km Fun Run
Start and finish line in Weeroona Park (Band Shell end), Marsh Street, Stanthorpe.
You may collect your race kit from 6:30am from the Start area, or from the festival shop on the corner of Maryland Street & Railway Streets, Stanthorpe (diagonally opposite from the Post Office), during the following hours 10am – 4pm Thursday March 3rd, 10am – 4pm Friday March 4th, or 8am - 6pm Saturday March 5th - PLEASE BRING YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL OR PHOTO IDENTIFICATION TO COLLECT YOUR RACE KIT. - All entrants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a registered parent/guardian for the entire duration of the race and the accompanying adult takes full responsibility for the safety of the entrant under 12.
