As part of the Apple & Grape Festival, the Southern Downs Mountain Biking Club Inc are holding a club 'Strava Ride'. This allows riders to complete their ride at any time of the day between 7.00am & 5.00pm, although club riders will be riding both routes at 7.30am if you'd like a guide.
Meeting point is Glenlyon Drive off Amiens Road Stanthorpe. This event will be a social fun ride and to enjoy our wonderful Southern Downs trails.
There will be 2 ride routes on the day, an Enduro ride which is 21kms and is suitable for Intermediate/advanced riders, this ride has a large amount of elevation change which will require a higher level of skill and fitness.
The 2nd route will be a Cross Country ride which is 13kms and uses similar trail as the 1st ride but does not have the large level of elevation change. This ride would be suitable for the beginner/intermediate rider. Beginner riders are advised that there is a number of technical areas on this trail but can be attacked slowly at your own pace.
This Strava event is designed to be a fun, no pressure ride which can be started at any time during the day, taken at your own speed and enjoyed by all. Grab a friend and come see what Mountain Biking in the Southern Downs and Granite Belt is all about.
There will be Club members around the area during the day so feel free to stop and chat about our club and the wonderful Mountain Biking we have in our region.
As always, please ride to your ability. All riders accept that they ride at their own risk - approved helmets and suitable footwear are mandatory.
